Heavy Equipment Operator

Pay: $27.00 - $35.00 Hourly 

Job Overview: 

We are seeking Heavy Equipment Operators with experience operating multiple types of construction heavy equipment, specifically graders, excavators, dozers, loaders, and skid steers to support Civil construction operations.  

We are looking to hire immediately (ASAP). Candidates must be willing and able to travel as required for local & nationwide projects. Travel is a mandatory requirement for this role and there are no exceptions. 

Safety is our top priority. This is a safety-sensitive position that requires a thorough understanding of equipment operation, jobsite hazards, and adherence to strict safety protocols at all times. 

Duties/Responsibilities: 

• Operate heavy equipment including graders, excavators, dozers, and loaders. 

• Perform mainline excavation, grading, backfilling, and related construction activities. 

• Learn and strictly follow all safety regulations. 

• Identify and avoid hazards (e.g., utility lines, workers, overhead obstructions). 

• Locate underground services such as pipes or wires before work begins. 

• Monitor equipment operations to ensure safety standards are met. 

• Conduct routine inspections and perform basic maintenance on equipment. 

• Use and operate hand and power tools safely. 

• Work collaboratively with field crews and perform general labor when needed IS A MUST!  

• Follow verbal and written instructions from supervisors and project leads. 

• Carry out other duties as assigned in support of field operations. 

Required Skills/Abilities: 

• Experience operating graders, excavators, dozers, and loaders is required. 

• 2 to 5+ years of heavy equipment operating experience preferred. 

• Prior experience in Heavy Civil construction is preferred (site grading, excavation, utilities, etc.). 

• Must be willing and able to travel extensively for projects. Travel is a required condition of employment with no exceptions. 

• Work collaboratively with field crews and perform general labor when needed IS A MUST!

• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record. 

• Ability to understand and follow verbal and written instructions. 

• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical labor (kneeling, climbing, twisting, etc.). 

• Must have reliable transportation. 

• High School Diploma or GED required. 

Physical Requirements: 

• Must be able to stand, walk, and operate equipment for extended periods. 

• Must be capable of performing physically demanding tasks in various weather conditions, including extreme heat. 

• Physical stamina to operate machinery during long shifts and travel for out-of-town projects. 

• Compliance with company safety procedures, including daily safety briefings, proper PPE usage, and participation in safety audits. 

• Must be able to pass a pre-employment background check & drug screening.
