Boilermaker II (Journeyman)

We are seeking a skilled and dependable professional to join our team in a role focused on the fabrication, installation, maintenance, inspection, and repair of boilers, pressure vessels, piping systems, and related equipment. This position supports safe, efficient, and reliable operations by performing high-quality work in accordance with applicable codes, standards, and site procedures.

Responsibilities

• Install, maintain, inspect, repair, and troubleshoot boilers, pressure vessels, tanks, piping, valves, and associated mechanical systems.
• Read and interpret drawings, blueprints, schematics, technical manuals, and job specifications.
• Lay out, fabricate, fit, align, and assemble components using hand tools, power tools, and precision measurement equipment.
• Perform welding, cutting, rigging, and equipment assembly tasks as required and within applicable qualifications.
• Conduct preventive maintenance and identify wear, defects, corrosion, leaks, or other issues requiring corrective action.
• Follow all safety procedures, lockout/tagout practices, confined space requirements, and environmental guidelines.
• Work collaboratively with supervisors, engineers, mechanics, and other trades to complete assignments efficiently.
• Maintain accurate records of work performed, materials used, inspections completed, and equipment conditions.
• Respond to equipment breakdowns and support scheduled outages, shutdowns, or emergency repairs as needed.
• Ensure work is completed in compliance with company standards, applicable codes, and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

• Journeyman-level experience in boiler making, mechanical maintenance, or a closely related industrial trade.
• Demonstrated ability to install, maintain, and repair boilers and pressure-containing systems.
• Proficiency in the use of trade tools, measuring instruments, and fabrication equipment.
• Ability to read and understand technical documents, drawings, and specifications.
• Knowledge of safe work practices, including rigging, material handling, welding, cutting, and hot work procedures.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in industrial, commercial, or utility environments.
• Strong attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and commitment to quality workmanship.
• Ability to lift, carry, climb, bend, kneel, and work in varying conditions as required by the role.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working with high-pressure systems, industrial boilers, or large mechanical assemblies.
• Relevant certifications or training in welding, rigging, confined space, or safety procedures.
• Familiarity with preventive maintenance programs and mechanical reliability practices.
• Experience supporting outage, turnaround, or shutdown work.
