About the role

Why Epicured?

Epicured is on a mission to combat and prevent chronic disease, translating scientific research into high-quality food products for patients nationwide. Our evidence-based approach brings the best of the clinical and culinary worlds together to help people eat better, feel better, and live better one meal at a time.

About Epicured

Epicured helps prevent and manage chronic disease through medically tailored nutrition, combining clinical research with culinary expertise to improve health outcomes nationwide. Join a mission-driven team working at the intersection of food, healthcare, and technology.

By joining our team, you’ll contribute to meaningful initiatives at the intersection of food, healthcare, and technology — helping to improve access, reduce complexity, and directly impact the lives of people managing chronic health conditions.

Position Overview

Epicured is seeking a Culinary & Recipe Data Analyst to serve as a system manager and technical backbone for our recipe database in Galley. In this role, you will be responsible for the end-to-end input, audit, and management of recipe data across all of our business lines.

Working directly with our Culinary Product Manager, you will follow established SOPs to ensure that every dish—from raw ingredient sourcing and vendor mapping to nutrition profiles and clinical allergen tags—is accurately modeled in Galley.

This is a critical role that directly unblocks our culinary backlog and optimizes product development. You will protect the integrity of our database architecture, support our cross-functional workflows, and have room to grow into broader product and data analysis responsibilities within the department.

Responsibilities

  • Recipe Data Management - input, standardize, and maintain detailed recipe specifications across all business lines within the Galley platform according to company SOPs.

  • Ingredient & Vendor Architecture - onboard and manage ingredients, map vendor supply data, and link accurate nutritional definitions and unit conversions.

  • Attribute & Tagging Governance - apply and audit clinical, dietary, and operational attributes (e.g., Low FODMAP, Diabetes-Friendly, Cardiovascular, Active, Inactive) at both the sub-recipe and completed dish level to protect system integrity.

  • Cross-Functional Data Quality - partner with culinary, clinical, and operation teams to audit existing recipes, correct discrepancies, and perform regular quality assurance checks on menu data.

  • Process & System Support - identify operational bottlenecks in recipe data entry, assist in refining SOPs, and ensure data consistency to support downstream menu planning and rotation, nutrition review, and labeling outputs.

Qualifications

  • Industry Experience: 2-3 years of food industry experience; whether through commercial kitchen/culinary experience, a background in food regulation, or work as a Registered Dietitian.

  • Education: a degree in Food Science (preferred)

  • Systems / Data Literacy: Proficiency in database entry or food management platforms (Galley experience is a huge plus, but other system experience is welcome).

  • Eager to learn, adapt, and scale responsibilities within culinary operations / product development within the organization.

  • Technical / Analytical Skills: Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel / Google Sheets for data manipulation, cross-referencing, and basic analysis.

  • Meticulous approach to data integrity, numbers, unit conversions (yields, serving sizes, weights), and technical ingredient and recipe specifications

Compensation & Benefits

Pay: $70,000 - $85,000/year, based on experience

Benefits:

  • 401(k)

  • Medical, dental, and vision insurance

  • Employee meal discounts
