Summary/Objective

Responsible for developing and sustaining system tools and processes to consistently monitor, analyze, and illustrate opportunities to reduce waste, increase gross margin, and ensure accurate valuation of inventory.

Essential Functions

  • Collaborate with Engineering, Purchasing, and Operations to maintain the accuracy and reliability of BOMs and Routings
  • Investigates, analyzes and illustrates costs and variances; Manufacturing, Raw Materials, Freight, Inventory, and Labor utilization to fully understand and target opportunities across the facility.
  • Drive root cause analysis and innovative problem-solving which impact our costs across the organization.
  • Prepares journal entries, account reconciliations, and analysis for all inventory related activities including material consumption, labor and overhead.
  • Performs settlement process to cost inventory production
  • Assists in the development of direct labor and overhead rates used for annual standard cost rolls.
  • Assists in preparation of cost/pricing data used for government contract negotiations in accordance with FAR/DFAR regulations
  • Follows company policies and practices as outlined in the Employee Handbook and/or applicable employment agreement.
  • Follows safety guidelines and procedures in accordance to the job.
  • Assist in development of Financial Controls related to costing requirements across all departments 

Required:

  • 4-year degree in accounting/finance
  • 5+ year experience in cost accounting
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Access
  • Able to interact effectively and cooperatively with employees at all levels
  • Able to operate in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple projects simotaneously
  • Self-motivated individual with critical thinking atributes

Nice to have:

  • Experience with FAR/DFAR regulations including ITAR, PIEE, CAS, SAM
  • Familiar with PowerBI is a plus
