About the role
Cognitive & Behavioral Consultants (CBC) | White Plains, NY
Join an established psychology practice where strong clinical care, collaboration, and professional growth go hand in hand.
Cognitive & Behavioral Consultants (CBC) is seeking a licensed Clinical Psychologist with experience in Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to join our clinical team.
This is an opportunity for a psychologist who has developed a solid clinical foundation, enjoys working with patients, and is interested in continuing to build a thriving clinical practice within an established organization. We welcome candidates who have an existing professional referral network, an established caseload, or demonstrated experience developing and maintaining a consistent patient pipeline.
Founded in 2004 by Alec Miller and Lata McGinn, CBC is a well-respected psychology practice known for its work in evidence-based psychological treatment, particularly DBT and CBT. Alec and Lata are internationally recognized psychologists who have dedicated their careers to advancing these treatments and training other professionals in their use.
At CBC, we value clinicians who take pride in their work, collaborate with colleagues, and are committed to continued learning. We strive to create an environment where psychologists have the clinical and administrative support they need to provide excellent care while continuing to develop professionally.
About the Role
As a Clinical Psychologist at CBC, you will provide evidence-based psychological treatment, primarily working with patients receiving DBT, while also incorporating CBT and other appropriate therapeutic approaches.
We are particularly interested in psychologists who bring both strong clinical skills and an entrepreneurial approach to developing their practice. This may include experience cultivating professional referral relationships, maintaining an established patient caseload, or building a pipeline of prospective patients through professional connections and community relationships.
You will have the opportunity to grow your practice within CBC's established clinical environment while collaborating with experienced colleagues, participating in case discussions, and contributing to a team committed to high-quality patient care.
CBC provides administrative and operational support, including billing and practice management, allowing clinicians to focus on patient care and the continued development of their clinical work.
Our primary location is in White Plains, with additional offices on Manhattan's Upper East Side and Upper West Side.
What You'll Do
Provide approximately 24 professional service units per week, including individual, family, couples, parenting, and group therapy, as appropriate to your clinical expertise.
Develop and implement individualized treatment plans using DBT, CBT, and other evidence-based approaches.
Conduct clinical assessments, make diagnoses, and monitor patient progress.
Build and maintain productive professional relationships that support patient referrals and the growth of your practice.
Maintain an appropriate and consistent patient caseload while supporting continuity of care.
Consult and collaborate with colleagues to support thoughtful treatment planning and quality patient care.
Participate in clinical meetings, case discussions, and educational opportunities.
Contribute to CBC's clinical community through knowledge sharing, consultation, or mentoring as appropriate to your experience and interests.
What We're Looking For
A PhD or PsyD in Clinical Psychology or a related qualifying psychology discipline.
An active New York State psychologist license in good standing.
At least one year of postdoctoral clinical experience, with demonstrated experience providing psychological treatment.
Experience or a strong clinical foundation in DBT and CBT.
Strong assessment, diagnostic, treatment-planning, and interpersonal skills.
An established professional network, experience maintaining a patient caseload, or the ability to cultivate referral relationships and develop a consistent patient pipeline.
Strong communication skills and an interest in collaborating with other clinicians.
A commitment to evidence-based care, professional integrity, and ongoing development.
Preferred qualifications:
Formal DBT training or supervised experience delivering DBT.
Experience developing a private practice or cultivating professional referral relationships.
Experience working with a range of ages and presenting concerns.
An interest in teaching, mentoring, or contributing to professional training.
Just as important, we are looking for someone who enjoys working with other professionals, treats colleagues with respect, and wants to be part of a collaborative clinical community.
