Job Summary

Rare immediate opening at our fast paced, highly successful, and award winning auto auction in Phoenix, AZ.  Our sales volume exceeds 50,000+ units per year, and we are looking for an experienced controller or assistant controller who thrives in this type of environment. The ideal candidate will have prior successful experience in the automotive industry.

As the leader of the accounting team, you’ll oversee our financial operations. This includes managing budgets, preparing financial reports, and ensuring compliance with financial regulations. This role involves coordinating with department heads to ensure efficient financial management, conducting regular audits, and providing financial insights to drive business performance.

Responsibilities

• Manage the daily operations and personnel of the accounting department
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual budgets and financial statements
• Forecast financial goals and conduct regular audits to maintain business profitability
• Review financial statements/ledgers with accounting staff to clear up any discrepancies
• Meet with department managers to develop plans to increase profitability
• Ensure timely and compliant filing of local, state, & federal taxes (sales & payroll taxes)

 

Qualifications

• 3-5 years of automotive accounting experience preferred
• Knowledge of dealership operations and automotive industry standards
• Experience in financial management, budgeting, and financial reporting
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite
• Excellent communication, organizational, and  leadership skills
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field is preferred
