About the role

CORPORATE DIRECTOR OF TECHNOLOGY

Maine Course Hospitality Group is built on Fun, Family, Integrity, and Respect. We are committed to Positively Impacting Lives—for our guests, our team, and the communities we serve. We’re looking for a strong, people-focused leader to help us deliver outstanding hospitality and exceptional hotel operations.

We are pleased to introduce a new leadership opportunity within Maine Course Hospitality Group — Corporate Director of Technology. This is a hands-on technology leadership role responsible for keeping hotel and corporate technology secure, reliable, scalable, cost‑effective, and for executing the Company’s technology roadmap in partnership with management and ownership.

The Corporate Director of Technology is the Company’s day-to-day technology owner and operational leader, executing a technology roadmap so that technology initiatives support the Company’s growth, operational performance, cybersecurity posture, and financial objectives. This role also plays a critical part in hotel openings, acquisitions, conversions, renovations, and management transitions by ensuring technology systems and infrastructure are properly planned, implemented, and secured. This is a hands-on role: the Director personally configures, troubleshoots and documents systems in addition to directing vendors and the Company’s managed services provider. A business-first mindset is essential: this role will introduce standards to teams that have not had them before and must do so collaboratively rather than by decree.

This leadership role serves as Maine Course Hospitality Group's senior technology leader and is responsible for ensuring technology functions as a strategic business capability supporting operational performance, cybersecurity resilience, financial stewardship, portfolio growth, and long-term business success.

Success is demonstrated through leadership, risk reduction, operational continuity, vendor accountability, project execution, support of organizational growth initiatives, cost optimization, and the ability to translate technology investments into measurable business value.

Impact Areas You Will Own:

  • Technology Strategy & Leadership
  •  Hotel Development, Acquisitions & Growth Support
  •  Financial Stewardship & Value Creation
  •  Technology Governance
  •  Cybersecurity & Risk Management
  •  Vendor & Contract Management
  •  Infrastructure, Networks & Telecommunications

Qualifications:

      Must Have:

  • 5+ years in information technology, including at least 2–3 years in a systems administrator, infrastructure, or IT manager role with responsibility for a multi-site or geographically distributed environment. A prior director title is not required.
  • Hands-on administration of Microsoft 365 and cloud identity and access management (Entra ID or equivalent).
  • Hands-on networking experience: you have personally configured firewalls, switching, VLANs, and enterprise wireless, and can explain how network design and segmentation support security.
  • Experience working day to day with a managed services provider, including holding them accountable to service levels and escalating recurring failures.
  • A track record of moving beyond help desk into implementation: systems you have deployed, configured, and documented, where you were the technical lead with the vendor even if someone else signed the contract.
  • Working knowledge of cybersecurity fundamentals, cloud services, telecommunications, and infrastructure lifecycle management, with experience contributing to technology budgets and complex projects.
  • Strong project-management, organizational, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to communicate technical concepts effectively to executives, hotel operators, ownership groups, franchise partners and non-technical stakeholders.

      Nice To Have:

  • Hospitality, hotel management, resort, restaurant, or related industry experience.
  • Familiarity with hotel technology platforms such as PMS, POS, CRS, RMS, sales and catering, payment, guest internet, and accounting systems.
  • Experience supporting hotel developments, openings, acquisitions, conversions, renovations, or transitions.
  • Working knowledge of PCI DDS as it applies to hotel payment environments.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Management, Hospitality Management, or a related field. Equivalent experience will be considered

Work Environment & Travel:

  • The Corporate Director of Technology operates within corporate and hotel environments and regularly works with ownership, executive leadership, hotel operations, franchise representatives, developers, contractors, technology vendors, managed service providers, consultants, and other external partners.
  • This role is based at the Freeport corporate office. Candidates elsewhere in Maine or northern New England who can be in Freeport weekly and reach our properties by car will be considered.
  • Occasional after-hours availability may be necessary for critical system outages, cybersecurity incidents, hotel transitions, and major technology implementations.
  • Occasional travel to hotel properties and project locations is required as needed and for assessments, implementations, development initiatives, vendor coordination, and leadership responsibilities that cannot be achieved remotely and/or through approved providers.
