Night Auditor Supervisor – Front Desk

DoubleTree by Hilton South Bend
South Bend, Indiana
Pay: $17.00–$18.00 per hour | Full-Time | Overnight Shift

Position Overview

The DoubleTree by Hilton South Bend is seeking an experienced, dependable Night Auditor Supervisor to join our Front Desk team.

This is a hotel Front Desk position — not a manufacturing, warehouse, or industrial auditing position.

The Night Auditor Supervisor serves as the overnight leader of the hotel’s Front Office operation. This position combines Front Desk guest service, overnight leadership, hotel operations, and nightly financial reconciliation. The ideal candidate is comfortable assisting guests, resolving concerns, supervising overnight operations, and ensuring the hotel’s daily financial activity is accurately closed and reported.

This position requires someone who can confidently operate the hotel overnight with limited supervision while maintaining Hilton and AFP Management service and operational standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as the Front Desk leader during the overnight shift and help ensure smooth hotel operations.

  • Provide exceptional guest service through check-in, check-out, reservations, telephone assistance, and handling guest requests.

  • Supervise and support Night Auditors and other overnight Front Desk team members.

  • Respond professionally to guest concerns and resolve issues within established hotel guidelines.

  • Complete the hotel’s nightly audit and ensure the business day is properly closed.

  • Audit and reconcile Front Desk, Food & Beverage, credit card, cash, and other hotel transactions.

  • Verify the accuracy of guest folios, payments, adjustments, discounts, and billing.

  • Prepare and distribute required daily, weekly, month-end, financial, statistical, and operational reports.

  • Identify discrepancies and research or correct errors before completing the nightly audit.

  • Monitor hotel activity, occupancy, arrivals, departures, special requests, and operational concerns throughout the overnight shift.

  • Communicate significant guest, operational, financial, maintenance, or safety concerns to hotel leadership.

  • Coordinate with Housekeeping, Maintenance, Food & Beverage, Security, and other departments when overnight issues arise.

  • Assist with training and development of Front Desk and Night Audit team members.

  • Maintain accurate shift documentation and provide clear communication to incoming Front Desk leadership.

  • Ensure compliance with Hilton standards, AFP Management policies, cash-handling procedures, safety requirements, and hotel procedures.

  • Maintain guest confidentiality and protect sensitive hotel and financial information.

  • Perform additional Front Desk and hotel operational duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications

  • Previous hotel Front Desk, Guest Services, or Night Audit experience strongly preferred.

  • Previous supervisory or leadership experience preferred.

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.

  • Strong computer skills and ability to learn hotel property-management and reporting systems.

  • Basic accounting and mathematical skills with strong attention to detail.

  • Ability to review financial information and identify discrepancies.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Strong guest-service and problem-solving abilities.

  • Ability to remain professional and composed when handling guest concerns or unexpected situations.

  • Ability to multitask and prioritize responsibilities in a fast-paced hotel environment.

  • Dependable attendance and ability to work independently with limited overnight supervision.

  • Must be available to work overnight shifts, including weekends and holidays based on hotel business needs.

What We’re Looking For

We are looking for a hospitality professional who understands that the overnight Front Desk is responsible for much more than running reports. The right candidate will be visible, guest-focused, detail-oriented, dependable, and comfortable taking ownership of the hotel during overnight hours.

Successful candidates will demonstrate:

  • A genuine hospitality and guest-service mindset.

  • Strong Front Desk and operational awareness.

  • Leadership and accountability.

  • Excellent attention to detail.

  • Sound judgment and independent decision-making.

  • Professional communication with guests and team members.

  • The ability to identify problems and take appropriate action.

  • A willingness to assist wherever needed to support the hotel operation.

Benefits & Perks

  • Competitive pay of $17.00–$18.00 per hour, paid bi-weekly.

  • Hilton team member travel discounts.

  • Health and wellness benefits for eligible team members.

  • Training and professional development opportunities.

  • Opportunities for growth within hotel operations and Front Office leadership.

  • Supportive hospitality-focused work environment.
