About the Role

A Professional Services Software Developer is a client-facing technical expert who designs, develops, and delivers custom solutions that extend and enhance our clients’ use of Swoogo. This includes highly branded event websites, third-party integrations, data transformation, and custom functionality.

You’ll work directly with clients and internal teams to translate business requirements into scalable, maintainable technical solutions. You’ll be expected to advise on feasibility and approach, estimate development effort, identify technical risks and dependencies, and own solutions through development, testing, deployment, and handover.

• Develop and implement responsive, accessible front-end solutions using HTML, CSS/SCSS, and JavaScript in a SaaS, digital agency, or similar environment.
• Build and customize branded client websites on the Swoogo platform, with close attention to detail, brand consistency, and polish.
• Optimize websites, integrations, and custom solutions for performance, reliability, and cross-device/browser compatibility.
• Design, build, and maintain software integrations using REST APIs, webhooks, and middleware to ensure seamless data flow between Swoogo and third-party systems (CRM, payment, SSO, marketing automation, and more).
• Read and work directly from API documentation to scope, architect, and troubleshoot integrations across a variety of platforms and auth schemes (OAuth, API keys, tokens).
• Collaborate with internal teams and clients to customize software functionality, map data models between systems, and resolve technical challenges.
• Write clean, maintainable code and create clear technical documentation for websites, integrations, and delivered solutions.
• Use Git and version control best practices to manage codebases.
• Test and debug solutions, including front-end builds, API calls, and webhook events—to ensure functionality aligns with client requirements and meets a high bar for quality and attention to detail.
• Work closely with clients to gather requirements, clarify objectives, and develop project and technical specifications.
• Assess feasibility, identify dependencies/risks, and provide effort estimates before work begins.
• Translate client requirements into clearly defined technical solutions, including assessing feasibility, estimated effort, and identifying risks and dependencies.
• Serve as a technical advisor during client calls and meetings, ensuring clear communication of complex concepts.
• Provide training and guidance to clients on the use of custom-developed websites and integrations.
• Manage multiple client projects simultaneously, ensuring deliverables are on time and meet quality standards.
• Communicate progress, risks, and dependencies to both internal stakeholders and clients.
• Identify opportunities for improving workflows through automation, AI tools, or software customization, using AI to work more efficiently without sacrificing quality or attention to detail.

What You’ve Done Before

• 5+ years of experience in web development with a strong knowledge base of front-end technologies (JavaScript, HTML, CSS, SCSS).
• Proven track record of owning development and delivery for branded websites and software/integration projects.
• Proficiency with at least one modern JavaScript framework or language (Vue.js, React, or TypeScript).
• Experience building strong relationships with clients and internal stakeholders to better understand goals, envision solutions, and define requirements.
• Your hallmark is delivering quality first, with a sharp eye for detail, and you have a penchant for hitting deadlines. All the time.
• Expert understanding of core web development principles, including responsive design, accessibility (WCAG), and performance best practices.
• You've created integrations using APIs and webhooks that are built to scale and support platform functionality.
• Demonstrated ability to balance technical execution with a strong design/UX sensibility, you care as much about how something looks and feels as how it functions.
• Comfort using AI tools to speed up development, documentation, or QA work without cutting corners on quality.
• Experience in leading complex projects.
