SUMMARY

The Leader, Cloud Engineering is responsible for the automation, configuration, and management of the business’s on-premise and cloud-based infrastructure, and the design and maintenance of CI/CD pipelines. 

COMPETENCIES

Ensure the stability, integrity, and efficient operation of the in-house information systems that support core organizational functions. This role will:

• Collaborate with Engineering, Infrastructure, and teams outside of Technology to ensure smooth and reliable operation of software and systems to meet business objectives.

• Manage and oversee SA’s cloud infrastructure including AWS configurations, DNS, various SaaS products.

• Design and deploy new applications and enhancements to existing processes.

• Interact and negotiate with vendors and contractors to secure system-related products and services.

• Monitor and test system performance; prepare and deliver system performance statistics and reports.

• Develop and maintain automated provisioning / permissions for third-party applications.

• Create and maintain documentation as it relates to system configuration, mapping, processes, and service records.

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE

• 5 years of tech experience with at least 3 years as Sr Devops Engineer or equivalent.

• High level of familiarity reviewing and authoring IaC code in either Terraform or CloudFormation.

• Basic knowledge of configuration management tools such as Ansible or Puppet.

• In-depth understanding of AWS products and their subsequent limitations and mechanics.

• Basic understanding of GCP API’s and multi cloud platforms.

• Proficiency in at least one modern scripting language (Python, Ruby, Sh, etc)

• Basic understanding of GitOps and or other development workflows on at least one major CI/CD platform. 

• Basic understanding of containerization under Linux using at least 1 major orchestration framework (Nomad, K8s, Swarm).

• In-depth experience and proficiency with at least 1 major monitoring platform ( Prometheus, Datadog, Grafana, etc).

• Strong organizational and communication skills with a history of maintaining runbooks and design documentation.

This is a hybrid position based in our NYC Financial District office, requiring on-site work Tuesday through Thursday and remote work on Monday and Friday.

Exact compensation may vary based on skills and experience.

Compensation Range

$205,000—$225,000 USD
