About the role

SMX is seeking a detail oriented and diligent security information technology system administrator to provide comprehensive support to Army Special Programs Directorate (ASPD). The ideal candidate would be comfortable with executing the processes for various aspects of Information Technology Management in a secure environment. The ideal candidate should also be comfortable working with a multi-disciplinary team to create, author, and brief repeatable frameworks and analyses focused on providing insights into potential vulnerabilities, stakeholder requirements, and necessary evolutions to a client’s portfolio with the goal of identifying, understanding, and mitigating different types of risks.   They should understand the fundamental security concepts, risk management, and network infrastructure. The ideal candidate will have an entrepreneurial mindset, willing to own the processes and projects for which they have responsibility, understand the context in which they operate, and advocate for improvements.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

The candidate will assist the team by providing comprehensive support in all aspects of physical security and program management to include:

  • Managing visitor and resident access control and badging
  • Providing administrative/business process support for processing Program Access requests
  • Delivering applicable security education and training for employees
  • Providing technical and planning support for Special Access Program (SAP) security meetings and other events, including coordination of the meetings, visit access requests, drafting meeting agendas, slide decks and talking points. It will also include setup, attendance tracking, operation of VTC equipment, taking meeting notes, recording tracking action items, finalizing and distributing minutes
  • Work with multi-disciplinary teams to help create, implement, refine, and disseminate mixed-method frameworks and approaches
  • Update or create required documentation (e.g., policies, security classification guides) to achieve outcomes
  • Independently facilitate workshops, meetings, and training across the lifecycle of a project
  • Serve as a liaison to subject matter experts across highly diverse mission fields
  • Provide advice and recommendations to client leadership and other cross-organizational management
  • Perform security and office management administrative duties
  • Assist the Facility Security Officer (FSO) with security audits, inspections, and the maintenance of required documentation.
  • Maintain property book and coordinate with other building tenets

Required Skills/Experience

  • Extremely detail oriented. They will need to run security processes end-to-end, noting key details, extracting next tasks, and identifying gaps in datasets
  • Able to work independently to pull together security reports and briefings along with other deliverables, drawing from disparate meetings, emails, documents, etc. The deliverables they produce will be expected to go directly for senior review
  • Customer service oriented and an excellent communicator in multiple formats (writing, verbal, etc)
  • Demonstrated stakeholder management experience
  • Able to manage work orders and subordinate staff
  • Task leadership experience
  • 1+ years of experience working with SAPCO – Army SAPCO ideal
  • CompTIA Security+ or higher certification
  • TS/SCI clearance
  • Requires full-time on-site support

Desired Skills & Experience 

  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification
  • Knowledge of secure business operational activities
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher

The proposed salary for this position is:

$93,700—$156,200 USD
