Jr. Analytics Engineer

Job Summary

The Jr. Analytics Engineer is an entry-level role that supports the development and maintenance of data solutions that empower business decision-making and reporting across the organization. This role combines technical curiosity with a strong interest in data modeling, ETL development, and data quality. The role has the opportunity to learn and grow within a collaborative data team.

Essential Functions

Description

• Assists in building and maintaining efficient and reliable data pipelines using SQL and ETL tools.
• Supports integration, transformation, and validation of data from multiple sources.
• Contributes to the development and maintenance of data models that support reporting and business intelligence use cases.
• Assists in the creation and support of data visualizations and dashboards using BI tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau).
• Collaborates with analysts, stakeholders, and data owners to gather and define data requirements.
• Helps monitor and ensure data quality and accuracy through validation routines and troubleshooting.
• Supports automation and scripting tasks to enhance data workflows and operational efficiency.
• Participates in documenting data processes, business logic, and workflows for internal use and knowledge sharing.
• Learns and applies best practices in data governance, version control, and analytics engineering workflows.

Qualifications 

• Bachelor's Degree in a quantitative or technical field (e.g., Data Analytics, Computer Science, Information Systems, Business) or equivalent experience required.
• Demonstrated experience working with data through internships, coursework, or personal projects.

Any equivalent combination of experience and education which clearly indicates the ability to perform the essential functions of the position may substitute on a year for year basis.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities 

• Foundational knowledge of SQL and interest in developing technical skills in data querying and transformation.
• Familiarity with data modeling and data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau).
• Exposure to scripting languages such as Python.• Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
• Effective communication and collaboration skills.
• Enthusiasm for a career in data engineering, analytics, or business intelligence.

Base Salary: $75,000 - $78,250 yearly

The salary range posted for this position represents the anticipated hiring range for this role. Offers are made within this range based on factors such as relevant experience, skills, education, internal equity, and market considerations. This is the hiring range for the position; compensation above the posted maximum is not typically available at the time of hire.

Work Location: Hybrid

This role is based in the Portland, OR area and follows a hybrid work model. Employees are expected to reside within a reasonable commuting distance of our Portland office and generally work on-site four days per week, with flexibility based on business and team needs.
