Solutions Architect

Overview

Black Canyon Consulting (BCC) is searching for a Solutions Architect to support the design and governance of enterprise-level IT solutions. The Solutions Architect will work with technical teams and stakeholders to ensure technology solutions align with organizational strategy, compliance requirements, operational needs, and long-term technical objectives.

Job Description

The Solutions Architect will lead the design and development of enterprise-level technology solutions, architecture frameworks, and technical roadmaps. This position will evaluate business and technical requirements and translate them into scalable, secure, and maintainable architectures that support organizational objectives.

The Solutions Architect will collaborate with technical and business stakeholders to assess solution feasibility, scalability, interoperability, security, and performance. The position will also provide technical oversight throughout the system development lifecycle and help establish and enforce architecture standards and best practices.

Required Skills

• Experience designing and implementing enterprise-level IT solutions
• Strong understanding of enterprise and solution architecture principles
• Experience developing architecture frameworks and technical roadmaps
• Experience designing and evaluating system integrations
• Experience translating business requirements and organizational objectives into technical solutions
• Experience assessing technical feasibility, scalability, interoperability, and performance
• Strong understanding of data integrity, system availability, security, and maintainability
• Experience establishing or applying technical standards and architecture best practices
• Ability to evaluate technical solutions based on performance, maintainability, security, and cost
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
• Ability to collaborate effectively with technical teams, business stakeholders, and organizational leadership

Experience Requirements by Level:

• Senior: 8+ years of relevant experience
• Mid-Level: 6+ years of relevant experience
• Junior: 3+ years of relevant experience

Desired Skills

• Experience developing enterprise reference architectures
• Experience providing technical oversight throughout the system development lifecycle
• Experience evaluating emerging technologies for use within enterprise environments
• Experience with cloud, on-premises, or hybrid infrastructure environments
• Experience architecting enterprise applications, APIs, integrations, data platforms, or distributed systems
• Experience working within environments subject to security, regulatory, or compliance requirements
• Experience balancing scalability, security, maintainability, performance, and cost when designing technical solutions
• Experience working with multidisciplinary or cross-functional technical teams

Job Responsibilities

• Lead the design and governance of enterprise-level IT solutions
• Develop architecture frameworks, reference architectures, and technical roadmaps
• Ensure technical solutions align with organizational strategy, compliance standards, and operational performance requirements
• Translate business and technical requirements into comprehensive solution architectures
• Evaluate proposed solutions for technical feasibility, scalability, interoperability, security, and performance
• Design and oversee system integration approaches across enterprise technology environments
• Establish, document, and enforce technical and architecture standards
• Provide technical oversight throughout the system development lifecycle
• Collaborate with stakeholders, engineers, developers, and other technical professionals to guide solution design and implementation
• Evaluate emerging technologies and determine their potential use within existing and future technology ecosystems
• Ensure system architectures support data integrity, availability, security, and operational resilience
• Identify and address architectural risks, dependencies, and technical constraints
• Optimize solution designs for maintainability, performance, scalability, and cost efficiency
• Provide architectural guidance and technical leadership to project and development teams
