The Job:

Lead the requirements gathering, analysis, and business process definition for the transformation of applications to modern web-based platforms in AWS cloud. As a SME, you will serve as the critical bridge between meteorologists, operational users, and the technical development team, ensuring that the web-based applications meet the complex needs of weather forecasting operations while leveraging the benefits of cloud technology.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct comprehensive analysis of current applications to document functionality, workflows, and user requirements
• Lead requirements gathering sessions with meteorologists, forecasters, and other stakeholders to define needs for web-based versions
• Develop detailed functional requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria for web applications
• Create process flows, use cases, and user journey maps to document complex meteorological workflows
• Analyze operational impacts of transitioning from desktop to web-based applications
• Identify opportunities for process improvements and enhanced functionality in web versions
• Collaborate with UX/UI designers to ensure user interface designs meet operational requirements
• Work closely with technical teams to translate business requirements into technical specifications
• Validate that developed solutions meet the defined requirements through testing and user acceptance
• Develop training materials and documentation for end users
• Create and maintain requirements traceability matrices and other documentation artifacts
• Facilitate prioritization of features and requirements with stakeholders
• Analyze and document integration requirements with other application components and external systems
• Support change management activities related to the transition to web-based applications

Here's What You Need:

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Information Technology, Meteorology, or related field
• 5+ years of experience as a business analyst for software applications
• Strong requirements gathering and documentation skills
• Experience with business process modeling and workflow analysis
• Proficiency with requirements management tools and methodologies
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
• Experience working with technical teams in software development projects
• Knowledge of Agile development methodologies
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
• Experience leveraging Generative AI development tools to accelerate and assist in the development process
• Knowledge of best practices in GenAI Prompting, development, reviewing generated content

Would Be Nice To Have:

• Master's degree in relevant field
• Experience with meteorological systems or scientific applications
• Knowledge of weather forecasting operations
• Background in transitioning desktop applications to web platforms
• Understanding of cloud computing concepts, particularly AWS Experience with government or mission-critical systems
• Familiarity with data visualization requirements for scientific applications Certification in business analysis (CBAP, PMI-PBA, etc.)
• Experience with user acceptance testing and validation
• Knowledge of geospatial applications or GIS systems 

As required by local law, Accenture Federal Services provides reasonable ranges of compensation for hired roles based on labor costs in the states of California, Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Minnesota, New Jersey, New York, Vermont, Virginia, Washington, and the District of Columbia, and the city of Cleveland. The base pay range for this position in these locations is shown below. Compensation for roles at Accenture Federal Services varies depending on a wide array of factors, including but not limited to office location, role, skill set, and level of experience.
