About the role
Eaton’s Electrical sector is currently seeking a Channel Manager, IT to join our CPDI (Critical Power Distribution Infrastructure) team. This position is based at our Toronto, ON facility and offers benefits from day one as well as a company vehicle.
What you’ll do:
The role of the Channel Manager in the IT business sector is to scale and manage a high-performing ecosystem of partners who are transforming how Canadian businesses connect, collaborate, and thrive. This role is accountable for driving sales performance across the CPDI portfolio, developing executive-level partner relationships, and delivering an exceptional end-customer experience.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Channel Development and Management
• Identify and develop new channel partners to expand market reach.
• Maintain strong relationships with existing partners to ensure continuous growth and collaboration.
• Assess and select partners based on strategic alignment and potential for mutual benefit.
• Implement channel policies and procedures to ensure consistency and compliance.
• Align CPDI engagement with the broader Eaton family
Sales and Revenue Growth
• Drive sales through channel partners by designing and implementing effective sales strategies.
• Monitor and analyze sales performance to identify areas for improvement and growth.
• Collaborate with partners to develop joint marketing initiatives and promotional activities in conjunction with CPDI Marketing.
• Ensure channel partners are adequately trained and equipped to sell the company’s products.
Market Analysis and Strategy Development
• Work effectively with product management and regional sales teams to ensure alignment and progression to goals
• Conduct market research to identify trends, opportunities, and competitive landscape.
• Develop strategies to address market needs and capitalize on emerging opportunities.
• Provide insights and recommendations to senior management based on market analysis.
• Align channel strategies with overall business objectives and sector-specific goals.
• Build strong alliance partnerships with noncompeting vendors to establish joint collaboration
Product Knowledge
• Maintain in-depth knowledge of the company’s products, services, and organization particularly in the IT sector.
• Leveraging CPDI sales teams to provide support and guidance to channel partners and their customers.
• Ensure partners have access to the necessary resources and information to effectively promote and sell products.
Performance Monitoring and Reporting
• Track and report on channel performance metrics, including sales, revenue, and partner engagement.
• Regularly update senior management on channel activities and progress.
• Identify and address performance gaps to improve channel effectiveness.
• Implement and maintain systems for tracking inventory levels, turnover rates, and stock availability.
• Collaborate with supply chain teams to forecast demand and manage stock levels effectively.
• Manage and approve pricing tool delivery, multipliers, and rebate claims.
Qualifications:
Basic Qualifications:
• Post secondary Diploma or Degree from an accredited institution
• Minimum 5 years of work experience within the IT sector working with indirect sales models (Channel Partners, Value Added Resellers, and Distributors)
• Possess and maintain a valid and unrestricted driver’s license requiring ~25% travel nationally and US
• Must have a valid passport for occasional travel outside of Canada
• Must be legally authorized to work in Canada without company sponsorship
Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience with CRM platforms and partner performance management tools
• Knowledge of campaign design and go-to-market execution within indirect sales channels
• Technical knowledge of Electrical and IT products and services
• Proven track record of success in indirect sales models, partner economics, and channel performance metrics
Skills:
• A data-driven mindset with the ability to translate complex metrics into actionable sales strategies
• Proven ability to drive alignment across cross-functional teams and thrive in fast-changing environments
• Exceptional presentation and negotiation skills, comfortable engaging at the executive level
• Proficiency in market analysis and sales strategy development
• Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously
• Strong motivational skills
The compensation range for this full-time position includes base pay and target sales performance incentive. This position has a target total compensation range of $132,000 - 165,000 per year including bonus.
