Network Specialist ( 7 months contract)

Sobeys is full of exciting opportunities, and we are always looking for bright new talent to join our team! We currently have a 7 months contract opportunity for a Network Administrator. This role can be based out of one our main offices including: Stellarton, NS; Mississauga, ON. Calgary, AB, Edmonton, AB.

Here’s where you’ll have an impact:

Key Responsibilities:

Network Monitoring: Use network monitoring tools to track system performance and uptime. Escalate issues as needed.

Basic Troubleshooting: Respond to user-reported network issues, perform diagnostics, and resolve or escalate problems.

Hardware Support: Assist in the installation, configuration, and maintenance of routers, switches, access points, and cabling.

Documentation: Maintain accurate records of network configurations, changes, and incidents.

Security Awareness: Follow established security protocols and assist in implementing basic security measures.

Learning & Development: Participate in training sessions and certifications to build technical skills and knowledge.

Required Qualifications:

0–2 years of experience in a networking or IT support role.

Basic understanding of networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, NAT).

Familiarity with network tools (e.g., Wireshark, SolarWinds, PRTG).

Entry-level certifications such as CompTIA Network+, Cisco CCNA (in progress or completed).

Strong willingness to learn, good communication skills, and attention to detail.

Bilingualism is required as the candidate will be expected to work with peers in other provinces in the development and implementation of tools and processes across Canada, as well as provide support to Sobeys employees across Canada
