We have obtained FDA approval and officially begun the commercial launch of the Globe® Pulsed Field System. This is a pivotal and exciting time in our journey, as we bring this life-changing technology to patients!

We are seeking a Senior Accountant to join our team! As a member of the accounting team, you will be supporting essential accounting and finance functions including financial reporting and tax compliance, FP&A, fixed assets, and internal controls. You will be a key contributor to projects that support Kardium’s rapid growth and prepare it to be a public, commercial stage company.

Please note, this opportunity is a hybrid work arrangement, located in Burnaby, BC.

Your responsibilities will be to:

Accounting Operations

Prepare detailed financial reports and schedules in accordance with the standards to support key month-end, quarter-end and year-end closing processes.

Provide oversight of general ledger accounting activities, including accounts payable, sales and accounts receivable, fixed assets, and inventory processes.

Identifying opportunities for process improvements and be a stakeholder in the implementation.

External Reporting and Audit

Support external audit activities.

Prepare audit schedules and supporting documentation.

Respond to auditor inquiries and assist with issue resolution.

Support tax filings and compliance obligations.

Financial Close Process

Support the month-end and year-end close processes.

Review journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules.

Analyze financial results and contribute to analyses of variances to forecast and prior periods.

Ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards and company policies.

Budgeting & Forecasting

Support the FP&A team to provide financial analysis and insights.

Assist with annual budgeting and periodic forecasting processes.

Support financial planning initiatives and management reporting requirements.

With the projected growth of the team, there will be opportunities for the role to evolve and grow into other areas of the wider Finance department or into a more senior position.

You will be successful in this role because you possess these attributes:

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.

CPA, CMA, or equivalent professional designation preferred.

5+ years of progressive accounting experience, with experience in a manufacturing or regulated industry and experience in life sciences preferred.

Prior supervisory or team leadership in operational setting experience preferred.

Experience with ERP systems and advanced Excel skills.

Experience with US GAAP is an asset.

Experience with public company reporting is an asset.

Strong communication skills.

Highly-motivated with an enthusiasm for finding innovative solutions to challenges.

Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.

Strong ability to work independently and demonstrate initiative.

Ability to adapt and manage multiple priorities.

Compensation

Kardium has listed the total cash compensation range (base salary + 5% Retirement Savings contribution) that we expect to pay applicants for this role, as of the time of this posting. Pay offered will be determined based on numerous relevant business and candidate factors including, for example, education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, and business or organizational needs. For candidates with more or less experience than listed above, the pay range will be adjusted.

As a permanent employee, you will also participate in Kardium’s stock option plan.

$90,000 - $115,000 (CAD Annually)
