Software Engineer

Work Location: 6080 Young Street, Halifax, NS (On-site, 5 days per week) Department: Engineering Reports To: Manager, Software Engineering

Employment Status: Full time, 40 hours per week

We are looking for an experienced full stack developer with a demonstrable track record of contributing at a senior level to new and existing web-based applications and platforms.

What You’ll Be Doing

Developing new features and integrations for a variety of internal and external business platforms, including Wireline and Mobile provisioning platforms.

Working with clients to solve complex problems, providing options while ensuring they have the tailored solutions required to meet their objectives.

Building reusable code and libraries for future use.

Optimizing applications for maximum speed and scalability.

Adhering to best practices.

Contributing to the evolution of our software development practices and architecture.

You’ll Also Bring

Post-Secondary Degree in Computer Science or equivalent knowledge level with at least 5 years of relevant work experience.

Experienced Java developers, familiar with java frameworks and libraries, such as Spring Boot, Spring MVC, Spring Data JPA, and Spring Security.

Demonstrated passion for quality software architecture and best practices.

Experience with using DevOps tools and methodologies (source control, unit testing, bug tracking, continuous integration.)

Experience with RDBMS databases such as PostgreSQL and Oracle.

Team player with strong communication skills; both verbal and written.

Familiarity with agile development methodologies such as Scrum and Kanban.
