About the role
Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented, motivated, and organized Junior Staff Accountant to join our growing Finance team. This is an excellent opportunity for an early-career accounting professional to develop a strong foundation in corporate accounting/Finance while gaining hands-on experience in a dynamic, collaborative, and fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate is eager to learn, highly detail-oriented, and committed to maintaining accuracy and integrity in financial reporting and accounting operations.
Key Responsibilities
Assist with maintaining the general ledger by accurately preparing and posting daily journal entries, accruals, and other required accounting adjustments.
Perform daily banking activities, including preparing and distributing daily bank and book balance reports to senior leadership.
Process physical check deposits and digitally scan checks and remittance documentation for the Accounts Receivable team.
Prepare capital expenditure packages and supporting documentation for internal review and approval.
Perform weekly and monthly corporate credit card reconciliations, including downloading transactions, coding expenses, and recording employee reimbursements.
Prepare supporting schedules and documentation for monthly and quarterly sales tax filings across all applicable jurisdictions.
Prepare and review routine intercompany reconciliations and balance sheet reconciliations for assigned general ledger accounts.
Compile and submit the monthly LAWA report through the designated online reporting portal.
Gather, organize, and maintain financial documentation and supporting records for internal and external audits.
Assist with month-end close activities and other recurring accounting processes as needed.
Identify opportunities to improve and streamline routine accounting and finance workflows.
Support special projects, financial analyses, and other accounting/finance related ad hoc as assigned.
Qualifications & Skills
Education: Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a closely related field.
Experience: 0 to 2 years of corporate accounting or finance experience (relevant internships or academic coursework will be considered).
Technical Proficiency: Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel (including XLOOKUPs and Pivot Tables) and familiarity with ERP or enterprise accounting software is preferred.
Analytical & Communication Skills: Strong analytical mindset, exceptional attention to detail, and professional written and verbal communication abilities. Ability to effectively communicate financial information and collaborate with team members across the organization.
Organizational Skills: Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities, adapt to shifting demands, and meet strict deadlines in a fast-paced setting.
