Staff Software Engineer, Robotics

Location: San Francisco Bay Area (onsite)

Pay: $170,000–$220,000 + bonus + equity

A venture-backed, commercial-stage medical device company is hiring a staff engineer to own the real-time tracking and automation software in its clinical system. The concept is proven; this role takes it to release.

What you'll do

• Own real-time tracking, localization and sensor fusion

• Build a low-latency C++ runtime with GPU acceleration

• Integrate robotic hardware and closed-loop automated positioning

• Design safety behavior: interlocks, overrides, degraded modes

• Run accuracy testing for regulatory verification, and mentor engineers

What you bring

• 6+ years of expert modern C++ on production real-time systems

• Strong Python

• Depth in 3D computer vision, sensor fusion, robotics control or ML for perception

• Calibration, registration and coordinate frames

• Owned a subsystem through release

• MS in CS, engineering, physics or math, or equivalent experience

Nice to have: medical device software standards (IEC 62304, ISO 14971); surgical navigation or robotics; CUDA or TensorRT
